UUCWI offers comfort and presence when times of trauma and distress touch our members’ lives.
Sometimes it is difficult to ask for help. If you are aware of anyone experiencing life challenges who needs a listening ear – or if you yourself need a shoulder to lean on – let the Pastoral Care Team know.
We are here for individuals undergoing grief, distress, or worry, to listen deeply, without judgment. We may be able to help you identify resources including those you already possess through your own life experiences.
Contact [email protected] or a member of the team directly. Members of the team are Kate Sheppard (coordinator), Diane Frank, Bill Graves, and Jane Hayes. You can also contact our minister at [email protected]. We can connect in person or over the phone. Pastoral care is short-term, typically just a few sessions, unlike weekly or long-term therapy.
UUCWI also has a group of Caring Connections Volunteers who can provide short-term support of a logistical nature (food, company, errands, etc.). To contact Caring Connections, send an email to [email protected]
