It seems to me that shame wreaks havoc with us as well, and sometimes “it is necessary to reteach a thing its loveliness,” to quote poet Galway Kinnell. Today we’ll explore how sexuality, gender, illness, and disability come to be associated with shame, and engage in a bit of shame-busting.
