The late Forest Church, a Unitarian Universalist minister and public theologian, believed that religion is the human response to being alive and having to die. We are all ultimately vulnerable to death. Most of us will experience multiple losses along the way. How do we live with our increasing vulnerability as we come to the end of our lives? What are the psychological and spiritual lessons of letting go of this life? What do we learn from accompanying others at the end of their lives?
