The wilderness. Whether it’s a literal and physical one or a spiritual one — what some have called ‘the dark night of the soul’ – most of us shun it at minimum. Or, if we are able to do so, we avoid it at all costs. But what if something very special can happen there? Then we might not want to miss it. Let’s take a look at some of the spiritual dimensions of wilderness in our lives.
Rev. Rick Mylander is a member of our local Greening Congregations Collaborative and serves as an interim minister for Christian congregations in crisis and/or transition. As a naturalist and an avid student of Jesus, his two passions have come together “in an almost aching, throbbing sense of wonderment and awe.” He titles his blog Naturally…reflections on Creation and Christian spirituality. http://www.rickmylander.com/ He lives in Coupeville with his wife, Gail.
