As we approach another Winter Solstice and Christmas, what opportunities do we have for re-connecting to the Earth? How can we honor all the gifts the Earth provides us during a season focused on gifts, love, and celebrating the gifts of light? What is our role as protectors?
Currently residing in NYC (pursuing Unitarian Universalist ordination), Stacey Mitchell was raised in the Mukilteo area. Her career has included working for the international peace organization The Fellowship of Reconciliation, the Sierra Club, an organization promoting Latina rights in Mexico and the United States, among other nonprofits. Stacey currently attends Union Theological Seminary, pursuing their new M.Div. Buddhist program, bridging her interests of Buddhism, social justice, and Unitarian Universalism. Among her spiritual pursuits over the years, Stacey has lived at a Buddhist monastery in Canada and has also studied under Tibetan master Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche. She is a member of All Souls UU in NYC and was very active with her UU student group while completing her B.A. at WWU many years ago.
