Becoming Human in the Anthropocene – Audio

The Anthropocene points to the new and disconcerting reality that humanity is destabilizing planetary life-support systems. We therefore face a tremendous evolutionary pressure to align our individual and collective lives with this daunting reality.  Dare we aspire towards harmony in a time of polarization and fragmentation? Dare we consider new ways to function as the collective mind for the Earth system? 
Karen Litfin, Ph.D. is Professor of Political Science at the University of Washington.  Her latest book, Ecovillages: Lessons for Sustainable Community, is an intellectual and personal exploration of community and consciousness with lessons for a viable human future.  Her fields of interest include: political ecology, integral politics, civic engagement, and contemplative pedagogical practices.
