Over sixty years ago, the day that became known as Bloody Sunday, the Voting Rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, changed what was possible in our Nation and directly led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Now, at a time in which our political present and future are in peril, what spiritual and practical lessons can we learn from those who gave so much – even in the face of violence and incredible odds – in the fight to expand voting rights?
